Biography

Professor Falbo is a 5th generation Sonoma County resident and 3rd generation mathematician. He began his academic journey at Santa Rosa Junior College and continued to Humboldt State University, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a Master's degree in Mathematical Modeling. His graduate research focused on the early migration of the Hawaiian hawksbill sea turtle, showcasing his passion for applying mathematical principles to real-world problems.

Since 2007, Professor Falbo has dedicated himself to teaching mathematics, enriching the minds of students at Humboldt State University, College of the Redwoods, and briefly at Salt Lake Community College. In 2018, he joined the faculty at Sonoma State University. Over the years, he has found great joy in teaching a variety of courses, with his favorites being statistics, mathematics for nursing, and mathematical computer programming.

In 2022, Professor Falbo expanded his role within academia by becoming an Educational Technology Application Expert for SSU's Center for Teaching & Educational Technology. Here, he oversees the administration of the Canvas learning management system and provides support to faculty in their course development.

Currently, Professor Falbo is invested in initiatives aimed at improving student retention, such as a data-driven Early Alert program. He is also at the forefront of integrating generational AI into the classroom, emphasizing the importance of equity in this technological advancement.
